Energy Topics

The United States' energy demand is projected to increase every year and America is striving to meet those growing energy demands by using all viable sources, including fossil fuels, renewables and alternative energy supplies. Beyond the well-known aspects of energy, however, are several related issues.

These endeavor brings opportunities and challenges. Many issues need to be addressed including ensuring access to steady, reliable energy sources; the industry's economic impact on the nation; protecting the environment; the development of sound regulations; and increased conservation and energy efficiency. It is imperative that the industry, in coordination with citizens and policymakers work together to maintain America's position as a global leader in all these areas.

There are many challenges confronting our nation as we strive for economic and energy security, such as increased energy taxes, limits on domestic access, increased regulations, environmental concerns, and safety standards. As a country, we can achieve our goals if our policymakers take the time to fully understand the issues, and make sound, fact-based decisions. It is the goal of forums, such as ours, to help educate citizens, industry and policymakers alike so informed decisions are made in the best interest of all Americans.
